MOMENTUM - Electrical Drives
Less is more
With these motors we provide a new type of electric drives. Their construction and design offer a wide range of features which aren't exhibited by current drive concepts in marine engineering.
Technically seen, our hubless electro drive involves Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM). Thanks to our sensorless, power-electronic approach, our three-phase synchronous motor has a defined armature position at high dynamics, torque and efficiency.
Since a synchronous motor is a synchronous machine with a motor operation, our propulsive unit acts as a generator and produces electricity when it is being passively pulled through the water or water flows past it whilst being stationary.
The design of the ring motor allows the propeller blades to run along the outside of the rotor. Therefore the hub used by customary propulsion can be abandoned, allowing the center of the propulsion to be free. The stories of ropes and other foreign objects getting caught in the propeller now belong to the past. Even if one propeller blade should break, it can be replaced easily and quickly.
The small muscle-man
Due to both the propeller running along the outside and the design of the strong torque motor, our propulsion vehicles can achieve above-average thrusts with a comparably small number of revolutions and frame size. Therefore our motor is very light, relatively small and compact in comparison to conventional propulsion vehicles.
The motor, which merely consists of a rotor and a stator, is moulded in a vacuum through a special procedure which allows it to be set up totally pressure-neutral. This enables the applications of our propulsion vehicles to be possible in very great water depths.
Additionally, it possesses neither sealings nor mechanical executions and doesn't require any lubricants, allowing the use with proper handling to be nearly maintenance free.
Mister Clean
The alignment and placement of the rotor within the stator is facilitated through two ceramic bearing pairs. Even here no oils or fats are needed for lubrication, as our lubricant is water. This is a secure guarantee for a long and unburdened use in the ever more restricted water protection areas and freshwater reservoirs.
For our propulsion vehicles to work over a greater period of time, all materials used have a long lifespan and are also designed to function in sea water.
Strength lies in calmness
Due to the two high quality ceramic bearings, our drive is centred accurately and is held reliably in its position.
Therefore, it is extremely quiet in operation and almost vibration-free.
Made in Germany
The development, construction and assembly all take part in Kempen in western Germany.
For you this means
- small and compact frame size
- lightweight
- extremely quiet and almost vibration-free
- high thrust and performance in relation to its frame size
- great effectiveness
- nearly maintenance-free
- individual programing of all parameters
- wide range of employment and integration possibilities. (Pod propulsion, Hub propulsion, etc.)
- employment in great water depths possible (ROV, AUV, etc.)
For the regulation and operation of our propulsion vehicles we work with one of the most experienced providers in this field.
Hereby we can achieve a great depth of development, reliability and a long term service.
All controllers are microprocessor-controlled, have a CAN-Bus available and can be supplied with a rated supply voltage (DC) in a large working range. The stepless rotation speed control of our propulsion vehicles occurs through a remote throttle or a joystick.
The advantages of our drive controllers are
- innovative technology
- great effectiveness
- large voltage range
- compact design
- easy setup
- sensorless vector control
- speed or torque control
- set-point value analog or via CAN-Bus
- auto tuning and self-test function
- battery management system
Last but not least
We believe : It doesn't work doesn't exist!
If you need a specific result, we will work with you until we achieve it.
